The Ithaca Chapter of Graduate Women in Science is committed to being an inclusive environment and welcoming students of all backgrounds and identities. Our focus is to promote gender equality in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), in particular by addressing the needs of women and gender minorities, who have historically been discriminated against and excluded from STEM. We believe that in order to truly remedy the injustices we all face, it is necessary to center the needs of those of us who are least privileged.
